Upon retirement from my corporate life, was clear to me that government social security and my fixed income pension was not going to provide me the kind of living that I wanted to have over the long term.

In addition, even if you do make a sale and the product doesn’t do what you said it would do, the customer is likely to first ask for a refund, and will probably never listen to you again.
